Can I bring older bank transactions into the app? What is the date of my account's first transaction? How far back does the auto-import go?

When you first set up your bank to auto-import, we'll bring in as much historical data that your bank will give us. This is usually a few weeks (maybe a few months), but it really depends on your bank. (To find out the date of your first transaction read this.)

If you've connected for auto-import but we only went back a few weeks or months, here's how you can import older transactions into the app:

  1. First, see how far back your data goes. Find out when your first / oldest transaction for a specific account is by going to Settings > Configure (next to the account you want to import older data for). You'll see an option for "Import older data before" followed by a date. This is the date of your first transaction, so you will want to import data that is older than that.

  • Settings > Configure button next to the account you want to import the file for

  • Click on Manually upload account transactions option, browse and select your file

  • You'll see a summary of your file, scroll down and save it. (Don't worry, you can always categorize your expenses after the data has been uploaded.)

Now the app will review your file and distribute the data to various parts of your account. You will receive a notification email once our import is complete and your transactions are ready to view and edit.

If you do not receive this email within an hour of your upload, do NOT attempt to re-upload your file. It may create duplicates if the other file is still uploading. Just email support@lessaccounting.com and we'll look into your file.
