My bank transactions are auto-importing, do I still have to do bank reconciliations?

My account is set up on auto-import, why do I still encounter errors? How do I fix the discrepancies in my bank account?

Even if your data is auto-importing and everything looks good, we still recommend doing bank reconciliations. While LessAccounting automates a lot of the work so you can focus on actually running your business, we still think you should double check the data every so often. Keep in mind that accounting is not something you can just set and walk away from.

Besides, if all the data is correct, a bank reconciliation should take you less than a minute. (Really!) And if there ever IS a discrepancy in your account, you'll be able to find and fix it very quickly if you know all previous months are correct and reconciled. That said, make sure to do bank reconciliations regularly so that when you do encounter an error, you'll figure it out in no time like a bookkeeping pro!
